Education Objectives

Training experts in AI robot field to prepare for future demands of industries by developing core technologies for AI robots

  • Securing Key Source Technology of AI Robot and Establishing a Close-to-Nurture Research Cooperation System
  • To foster world-class experts in AI robotics in preparation for the 4th Industrial Revolution and future industrial demand

 

Guide and introduction

Its goal is to develop core natural technologies for AI, machine learning/dipening, cognitive science, interaction, big data, humanoid, next-generation intelligent robotic services, medical/health and wearable robots. The software department, the interactive science department, the design department, the electronic electrical engineering department, the global BME department, and the mechanical engineering department, are seeking convergence among the departments, and the AI-robot convergence research is a joint lab that enhances the characteristics of AI-robot convergence research.Operations and Co-advisor systems are being introduced.

The courses include the introduction of AI-robot convergence, AI-robot platforms and services, IoT design, big data analysis, AI-robot convergence PBL, and AI-robot convergence seminar. AI-robot convergence entrance and robot platform and service subjects are applied with Team Teaching for the purpose of operating curriculum differentiated from the existing methods, and the robot platform and service subjects are operated by PBL using the intelligence system research center's experimental environment for effective learning of AI-robot convergence process, and AI-robot convergence technology seminars to explore ideas and develop creativity.

 

Intelligence System Research Center

It is focusing on developing sources and applications related to MEMMS/NEMS for vision/sensor-based intelligent robots, 3D object recognition and environment modeling, next-generation service robots, personal robot vehicles, cognitive systems, outdoor SLAM, and industrial printing, and is actively working together with domestic state-funded research institutes, advanced research institutes, and universities.

    • Medical, Biological: Samsung Seoul Hospital and Gangbuk Samsung Hospital (health and medical-related joint research)
    • Research Institute: IBS Research Group (Joint Research in Brain Science)
    • Industry-Academic Cooperation: Samsung SDS and Multi-Campus (co-development of curriculum, exchange of lecturers and human resources, and utilize Big Data SW)
    • International Cooperation: Georgia Tech College of Computing (Center of Data Analytics)

 

Future vision and career

  • Employment of Korean conglomerates focused on securing the source technology of the 4th Industrial Revolution
  • Major AI robot technologies such as post-Doc courses at well-known research institutes and universities in Korea and Spin-off venture startups enable paradigm shift to various fields.
