Prof. Lee of Nanostructured Physics Research Team solved two-dimensional matter heterogeneous synthesis problem
Prof. Lee of Nanostructured Physics Research Team solved the two-dimensional heterogeneous synthesis problem through collaborative research
A team of Korean researchers developed the world's first technology to synthesize boron nitride, a two-dimensional material composed of different elements, into a single crystal.
Hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) is a hexagonal atomic structure like graphene, which has a plate-like structure consisting of boron and nitrogen instead of carbon.
The research results were published in the November 16 issue of the world's top international scientific journal Science.
The results of this study have been evaluated as suggesting a new research paradigm that can grow heterogeneous stacks of various 2D materials into large area single crystals. Based on this, it is expected to greatly revolutionize the development of next-generation transparent electronic devices, gas barrier, sensors and filters.
The results of this research were carried out by the support of basic research support project (private research), basic science research institute, and Korea Institute of Science and Technology institute.
