SAINT will hold OLED Seminar with Min Whan Choi of Samsung Display.
Please attend this event and take a lecture.
■ Title: Backplane Technology (2)
■ Speaker: MinHwan Choi, Principal Engineer (Samsung Display)
■ Time: April, 27., Fri. 15:00
■ Place: e+ Lecture Hall (room 83188), 2nd Research Building, Sungkyunkwan University
■ Contact: SAINT OFFICE (031-299-4115)
■ Summary
- Until recently, it is crystal clear that Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode (AMOLED) displays are superior in premium cell phones. Numbers of coloer performance, luminance, power consumption, and mechanical flexibility indicate AMOLED displays. As a result, majors in current markets implement or are going to use AMOLED displays.
AMOLED display is consisted of cutting edge technologies. The first technology, Backplane results in compensated elcetricity moving to EL layer. The second, evaporation technology stacks up multi ultra-thin EL layers on controlled positions. The last, encapsulation technology prevents AMOLED displays from critical elements.
The seminar will give understanding of aforementioned technologies for future engineers and scientists.
■ Background
- Minhwan Choi received the Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from Columbia University in New York City. He joined Samsung Display Cooperation (SDC) as a Member of Research Staff in 2010, to research and develop polycrystalline-silicon thin-film transistor technologies for OLED display applications. In SDC, he has participated in several frontier OLED display projects. Currently, he is in charge of the process architecture group for new Gen 6th flexible OLED display manufacturing. His research interests lies in OLED device technology and fabrication, as well as materials, processes, and devices for integrated systems.
